Next Generation Ministries is recruiting a worship arts intern to help lead worship during Sunday services and to work with children and youth from our summer camp program (Prek-6th grades) and Youth Leadership Center (7th-12th grades). Interns will work with children and youth throughout the week to help them build their ministry skills and to lead them in worship activities during chapel, weekly community outreach events, and more.
The ideal candidate will be a college/grad student who desires to work and learn more about at-risk children in an urban setting and values a commitment to leadership development. A major in education, child development, youth programming, leadership, or children’s/youth ministry is a plus although this internship is open to other majors. The candidate should learn quickly, be open to team-based and collaborative work styles, demonstrate an interest in social/emotional learning and development, and have an interest in applying trauma research to the day-to-day work. The candidate should have a minimum of 1200 hours working with children or youth (ages 18 and under) in a paid or volunteer position.
Next Generation Ministries prepares the children and youth in our community, including at-risk youth, to serve as leaders in the family, church, community, city, and world. Spring Garden Academy (www.springgardenacademy.org), as a ministry of Next Generation Ministries ( www.nextgenministries.us), provides a quality and Biblical education for preschool, elementary, and middle school children in Philadelphia. Candidates should understand and embrace the vision and mission of our organizations.
Please review our website, www.nextgenministries.us to learn more about our vision and mission. If you believe you are a potential fit, then submit an online application that includes your cover letter and resume. The cover letter should be specific to the position and explain why you may be a good fit.
