Next Generation Ministries is recruiting part-time paid instructional interns and teaching assistants for our summer camp programs at Spring Garden Academy. We run a eight-week summer camp program with children in PreK-6th grades. Instructors will work directly with children and youth in our morning program to lead a variety of learning activities (Math, Language Arts, STEM Enrichment, etc.).
The ideal candidate will be a college/grad student who is majoring/has majored in education, child development, youth programming, leadership, math, life sciences, and English—although this position is open to other majors. The candidate should learn quickly, be open to team-based and collaborative work styles, demonstrate an interest in social/emotional learning and development, and have an interest in applying trauma research to the day-to-day work. The candidate should already have a minimum of 1200 hours working with children or youth (ages 18 and under) in a paid or volunteer position.
This position can also be structured as an internship for college students.
Next Generation Ministries prepares the children and youth in our community, including at-risk youth, to serve as leaders in the family, church, community, city, and world. Candidates should understand and embrace the vision and mission of our organization.
